ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Erectile Dysfunction (ED), is characterized by the regular or repeated inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis during sexual activity. A penile erection is the hydraulic effect of blood entering and being retained within the penis. ED can have severe psychological consequences as it can be tied to masculine self-image and can cause relationship difficulties.

THE MOST NOTABLE CAUSES OF ED

  • Aging (ED is 4 times more common in men in their 60's than those in their 40's)

  • Lifestyle choices (Smoking)

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Diabetes

  • Neurological problems

  • Hormonal in-sufficiencies

  • Side effects from other medications

PLEASE NOTE

All medications prescribed for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction or BPH may lower your blood pressure. Do not take any of these medications if you are also using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. Taking a nitrate in combination with an erectile dysfunction medication can cause a severe and unsafe drop in blood pressure. Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if your erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours (priapism). Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if you have sudden vision loss.
